• Speech-Language Services

    Speech-Language Specialists, also called speech therapists, assess, diagnose, treat and help  prevent disorders related to speech, language, voice and fluency.  They teach students how to articulate sounds, improve their voices, speak fluently or improve their language skills to communicate more effectively. Within the school setting, appropriate speech and language skills are important for reading, writing, and oral presentations. Students can be referred to the speech department by either teachers or parents.  If an evaluation is completed and a child is found Eligible for Speech and Language Services, an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is created and tailored to meet the needs of the student.  Holland Township School's Speech-Language Specialists deliver services to students who demonstrate Speech or Language Impairments per State of New Jersey criteria in the areas listed below:

    • Articulation
    • Fluency 
    • Voice 
    • Language
