• Referring Your Child for Speech

If you have concerns regarding your child's articulation or fluency skills the first step is to contact your child's teacher and share your thoughts about his/her speech.  If warranted the teacher will contact one of the speech-language specialists and make a referral.  After a referral is made a speech-language specialist will contact you within 20 days to set up an initial evaluation planning meeting.  At this meeting your concerns will be discussed and the evaluation process will be reviewed with you.  If in agreement, signed consent is required before testing can begin.  Within 90 days testing will be completed and you will receive a written report.  A second meeting will be held to discuss the evaluation findings and develop  an Individualized Education Plan if necessary.
