My Teaching Philosophy:

1.  I believe kids learn best in a structured and consistent environment where they know what to expect.  I also believe that fun and learning go hand in hand.  My classroom follows a "growth mindset" philosophy that we never say "I can't"; we say "I can't do it YET."  The power of YET is where growth begins.

2.  Communication between parents, teacher, and students is critical.  I will always share celebrations, as well as struggles.  The struggle IS the growth and it takes parents, student, and teacher to encourage and believe in working hard to achieve.  We will all work together and celebrate together to maximize learning opportunities!

3.  Kindness and respect are the cornerstone of my classroom.  Expecting and encouraging a family atmosphere in my classroom is paramount for me; students can not learn if they don't feel valued and comfortable.  When problems occur, we work together to get through them and then move on.  Encouraging each other is regular, daily practice in my classroom.
