Message from Superintendent at Delaware Valley High School
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am reaching out to you to let you know that we have been made aware of an issue with the ash trees on our property, specifically behind our school and surrounding the trails connecting the school property with the neighborhood behind the school. As is happening throughout the state, the trees are being damaged by an infestation of the invasive Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) beetle. As a result, there is an increased risk of falling branches and/or trees that could potentially cause damage to property, and pose a hazard to people walking in this wooded area. To this end, until there is a way to remedy this issue, we have posted signage and blocked entrances to the trails in this area. We are asking that everyone stay out of these woods and off these trails until further notice.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support,
Scott McKinney, Superintendent of Schools
