This is probably not a surprise ... I L♥VE TEACHING! I especially love teaching Middle School.
I really believe in my students. I try to show them that they CAN be successful -- even when things seem too difficult. I do have very high expectations for everyone I teach. If you set the bar higher, you learn to jump higher! I may not be my students' "favorite" teacher ... but I hope that I will be remembered as the teacher that helped build their confidence, believed in them no matter what, and taught them how to use the tools and resources they've been given to acheive their own success.

When I'm not in school I like to ...
Shop! Shopping is one of my favorite things to do. I consider it exercise since it involves a lot of walking around and lifting!
Train Dogs! I have trained lots and lots of dogs, and have taught dog training classes. I've trained dogs to work as service dogs and therapy dogs. I've trained dogs to compete in obedience, and to do agility. I've even trained dogs to appear on television and in movies.
Cook! I am a pretty good cook, and love preparing food for friends and family. Don't ask me for any recipes, though ... because I really don't use them. I don't really have a "signature dish" or a favorite, but I do make really good meatballs, gravy and pasta.
Read! I lost count of how many books I read over the summer! During the school year I don't get to read quite as much, because I am busy writing lesson plans, creating fun class activities, and grading papers. But in the summer I read and read and read and read!
Spend Time on the Water! Any water will work! I love the ocean and lakes. A stroll by a pretty stream, or quiet reservoir is a good way to pass the time. But ... since we live so close to the Delaware, I now spend a lot of time floating on the river!\

I ♥ My Dogs!
I have two dogs, Raven and Lucky. Raven is a Miniature Pinscher, and Lucky is a Chihuahua. They are great companions!
