Mrs. Nugent

I believe that all children are unique and have something special that they can bring to their own education. My role as the teacher is to assist every child in developing their own potential, to recognize and develop their strengths, as well as embrace the differences of others. I believe a classroom should be a safe, caring community where children feel able to take a risk, to blossom and to grow. To meet this end, I present a curriculum that incorporates each different learning style, as well as make the content relevant to the students' lives. This is done through hands-on, cooperative learning, themes, and individual work that both engages and activates students' learning in a setting that offers consistency, routine and positive reinforcement.

I have been teaching first grade at Holland for 12 years. I live locally with my husband, three children and three dogs.
